The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 2 Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.
1 Timothy 4:1-2
In today’s society, Christians are warned about the false teachings of false teachers because it may mislead us from the truth derived from the word of God. God’s word is the truth. It should be our only source of guidance in our life. However, because of the unwise lives of most of the people in our generation today, we are influenced to live out and believe that we can live by the principles stated outside the bible. According to Jesus, “People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. “ (Matthew 4:4). Jesus Himself clearly stated that every believers and followers of God should focus on living and building our lives based on His words. However, we are always convinced to believe things that will compromise our Christian faith and complement the comfort we can have if we decided not to follow Jesus.
Christians, are always engaged in spiritual warfare. Through the word of God, we can always have His full armor on hand and be confident that we will never be defeated in this battle. (2 Corinthians 10:3-6). The spiritual warfare we are warned about are present in our daily lives. It comes with the form of subtle deceptions media and non-believers are repeatedly saying and living out loud. If we did not guard ourselves, we can unconsciously buy into different schools of thought stated outside the Bible and be unaware about the implications it can have in our Christian lives. Unwise thinking can produce problems and problems can be the source of our mistrust in God. By having these lives in our lives we will not be able to discern what’s good or bad, right or inappropriate decisions we should choose and avoid. (Joshua 1:8). We should understand that if we are not alert about incorporating deceiving truths this world offers us, we will eventually get lost making us abandon our faith we once cherished. God promised us that if we put our trust in Him, He will never leave or forsake us and His words should light our paths. (Psalms 119:105). Christians should always have a regular stain check if we are still in His presence. Problems and struggles are always present and will never leave us as long as we are here on earth. Every believer should understand that apart from God’s word, we will never have a life pleasing to Him. We should not be disheartened whenever we stumble because we can always turn to God and our hope in Him will always make our Christian lives victorious. (1 Corinthians 15:54-58)
